CVE-2026-7539

Local privilege escalation via insecure temporary files

Published Jun 24, 2026 · Updated Jun 24, 2026

Insecure temporary-file creation in HP Accessory WMI Provider before 1.4.11.0 allows local users to execute code with elevated privileges. The installer creates a temporary file in an insufficiently protected directory, although HP has not disclosed the file or function involved. Exploitation requires low privileges, passive user interaction, and additional system conditions; success grants control beyond the user's existing account.
