Authenticated root command execution via timestr injection
Published Aug 26, 2026 · Updated Aug 26, 2026
OS command injection in Comfast CF-WR630AX firmware 2.7.0.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root via HTTP. The webmgnt ntp_timezone SET handler inserts the timestr value into a date shell command with sprintf and passes it unescaped to system(). An authenticated administrator must set ntp_client_enabled to 0; shell metacharacters in timestr then provide root-level control of the router.
