Arbitrary configuration file write via insufficient authorization
Published Sep 4, 2026 · Updated Sep 4, 2026
Improper access control in MBS-Solutions X-Serie Gateway firmware 6_00_05 allows remote authenticated users to write configuration files. The ugw-editfile method in /cgi-bin/wwwugw.cgi accepts Standard-role requests that write arbitrary content beneath /uxx/config/ and /ugw/config/. A low-privileged Standard account and network access to the integrated web interface are required, enabling unauthorized modification of persistent gateway configuration.
