Authenticated root code execution via ugw-restart injection
Published Sep 4, 2026 · Updated Sep 4, 2026
Command injection in MBS-Solutions X-Serie Gateway firmware 6_00_05 allows remote authenticated users to execute code as root. The ugw-restart method in /cgi-bin/wwwugw.cgi passes attacker-controlled code into the root-executed dpcheck system utility. A low-privileged Standard-role account is sufficient, granting unrestricted command execution on the gateway.
