Unauthorized profile changes via missing CSRF checks
Published Aug 18, 2026 · Updated Aug 18, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Onlne Examination & Learning Management System 1.0 allows remote attackers to alter profile data via forged requests. The account profile update function in SourceCodester Onlne Examination & Learning Management System accepts username and email changes on the strength of the victim's session alone and does not verify an anti-CSRF token or request origin. Exploitation requires an authenticated user, observed as an Instructor account, to open attacker-controlled HTML or another malicious page; the demonstrated result is unauthorized profile modification within that user's privileges.
