CVE-2026-75147

Memory disclosure or crash via OBU size wrap

Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in FFmpeg before commit 983dae9 allows local users to disclose process memory or crash ffmpeg via crafted AV1 input. The keyframe-detection loop in libavformat/rtpenc_av1.c advances the data pointer and subtracts encoded header and attacker-controlled OBU payload sizes without bounding the payload against the remaining packet. Processing a crafted AV1 packet for RTP output is required; counter wrap then drives the next iteration past the packet buffer, causing memory disclosure or a crash.
