CVE-2026-75144

Memory corruption via unchecked Dirac unit copy

Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 21, 2026

Heap buffer overflow in FFmpeg before commit 1cdeb3c allows attackers to corrupt memory via a crafted Dirac data unit during RTP output. In libavformat/rtpenc_vc2hq.c, the VC-2/Dirac RTP packetizer copies an input-derived data-unit or fragment length into a fixed-size heap buffer without enforcing an upper bound. Reachability requires attacker-controlled Dirac content to be packetized for RTP by FFmpeg or software that embeds its muxer; public records describe memory corruption and likely crashes, but do not confirm code execution.
