Vault disclosure via unauthenticated PasswordVault key retrieval
Published Sep 2, 2026 · Updated Sep 3, 2026
Insecure credential storage in Septeo IT Solutions UpSignOn for Windows before 7.19.0 allows local users to export vault contents. The Windows client stores the biometric unlock key in the Windows PasswordVault API so a standard process in the same session can retrieve it without an authentication prompt. A local session is required; the recovered key decrypts protected vault files and exposes the password manager contents in cleartext.
