CVE-2026-75131Public exploitHinoki check available

Root code execution via VPN username injection

Published Sep 23, 2026 · Updated Sep 23, 2026

Improper output escaping in NetworkManager-l2tp 1.52.4 and earlier allows local users to execute arbitrary code as root. The nm_l2tp_config_write() path inserts the VPN username into a root-owned pppd options file without escaping pppd grammar. A local user must be allowed to create and activate a personal L2TP profile and reach a responding endpoint; an injected plugin directive loads an attacker-controlled shared object as root.
