Authenticated service interruption via unchecked Profile copy
Published Apr 30, 2026 · Updated Apr 30, 2026
Buffer overflow in UTT HiPER 1200GW 2.5.3-170306 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service via a crafted Profile value. The formRemoteControl handler copies the attacker-controlled Profile field with strcpy into a fixed-size structure slot without checking its length. Reaching the operation requires authenticated access to the router's web interface; an oversized value corrupts memory and can interrupt the device's service.
