Unauthorized asset probing and waking via missing authorization
Published Aug 17, 2026 · Updated Aug 18, 2026
Improper authorization in Next Terminal 3.3.7-b1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to probe or wake unauthorized assets. The /api/portal/assets/{assetId}/ping and /api/portal/assets/{assetId}/wol endpoints accept arbitrary asset UUIDs and perform asset lookup, reachability checks, and wake-on-LAN actions without enforcing the per-asset grant that the session-creation path applies. Any valid account, including one that retained an asset UUID after access was revoked, can confirm asset existence, read display names and host:port data from dial errors, measure reachability and timing, and trigger wake-on-LAN for that asset.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
