Memory corruption via radio frame-length underflow
Published Oct 14, 2026 · Updated Oct 14, 2026
Memory corruption in Zephyr RTOS's KW41Z radio driver allows remote attackers to overrun receive buffers via malformed IEEE 802.15.4 frames. The kw41z_rx() function subtracts the frame checksum length without validating the radio-reported length, then copies register contents beyond the first buffer fragment. Exploitation requires unauthenticated access within radio range of an affected device; the supplied analysis identifies crashes or packet-data corruption as the likely consequences, not controlled arbitrary writes.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
