Stored script execution via code-block label

Published Aug 17, 2026 · Updated Aug 17, 2026

Stored XSS in Markdown rendering in JetBrains YouTrack before 2026.2.18068 allows remote attackers to run script in a viewer's browser. JetBrains has disclosed only that the fenced code-block language label is the affected locus; the available records indicate that attacker-controlled label text can be stored and later rendered into page output without neutralization. Exploitation requires crafted issue content to be saved and then viewed by another user, and the exposed impact is execution in that user's web session, enabling read or write actions that the victim can perform in YouTrack.
