Cross-user token disclosure via label-selector scoping bypass

Published Sep 3, 2026 · Updated Sep 3, 2026

Information disclosure in SUSE Rancher allows remote authenticated users to read other users' token metadata and stored bearer token hashes. The ext.cattle.io/v1 Token store drops its internal owner filter when a caller supplies another user's cattle.io/user-id label selector, then lists or watches backing Secrets without a subsequent ownership check. A standard account with default User or User Base roles is sufficient; single-object operations remain owner-checked, and the disclosed hash is salted.
