Unauthenticated post styling modification via unchecked AJAX handler
Published Aug 22, 2026 · Updated Aug 22, 2026
Authorization bypass in Themify Builder 7.8.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter styling data for arbitrary WordPress posts. The tb_update_old_data AJAX handler accepts an attacker-controlled post ID and JSON padding or margin payload without checking authorization, while wp_localize_script exposes its nonce on frontend Builder pages. No account or user interaction is required; the bounded impact is unauthorized modification of stored Builder styling for published, private, or draft posts.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
