Stored XSS via hover-color attribute breakout
Published Aug 25, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
Stored XSS in Cozy Blocks 2.2.16 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts via a crafted hover-effect value. The cozyHoverEffect.boxShadow.color value passes wp_kses_post because a quote-breakout payload needs no angle brackets, then renders as an event-handler attribute. Contributor-level access is required to store the payload; any visitor who opens the injected page runs the script in that site's browser context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
