Contributor-level script execution via unescaped clientId
Published Sep 18, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Stored XSS in WPBlockArt Magazine Blocks 1.8.6 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through News Ticker content. NewsTicker::render() concatenates the clientId block attribute into an HTML class without sanitizing the value or escaping it with esc_attr(). Contributor-level access is sufficient to store the payload, which executes in the browser of any user who opens the affected page.
