CVE-2026-74994Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Authenticated directory access bypass via shared namespace

Published Sep 1, 2026 · Updated Sep 1, 2026

Incorrect authorization in Erlang/OTP inets httpd allows remote authenticated users to read protected content for other directories. The mod_auth dets and mnesia backends store every directory block's users and groups in shared tables, so a valid user for one block satisfies another block's access check. Exploitation requires one server instance with at least two differently restricted directory blocks and valid credentials for any protected path; plain authentication and single-directory configurations are unaffected.
