SSRF via unchecked AWS credential-source URLs
Published Nov 1, 2026 · Updated Nov 1, 2026
SSRF in AWS credentials in Google::Auth 0.12 for Perl allows attackers to reach internal services via crafted credential configurations. Google::Auth::ExternalAccountCredentials::Aws retrieves subject tokens using credential_source.imdsv2_session_token_url, url, and region_url without validating their hosts. Exploitation requires a caller to load attacker-influenced external_account configuration and reach metadata retrieval, causing GET and PUT requests from the application host, including to link-local endpoints.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
