CVE-2026-74705Network attack vector

Kernel memory corruption via stale UDP pointer

Published Aug 22, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026

Use-after-free in affected Linux kernels allows remote attackers to corrupt kernel memory via crafted UDP tunnel traffic. __skb_udp_tunnel_segment() saves a UDP-header pointer before pskb_may_pull() can reallocate skb->head, then reads length and checksum fields through the stale pointer. Exposure requires an active UDP-tunnel segmentation path, such as VXLAN, Geneve, FOU, or virtio forwarding; successful triggering can disclose or corrupt kernel memory or panic the host.
