Host denial of service via replay-state overwrite
Published Aug 22, 2026 · Updated Aug 22, 2026
Memory leak in the Intel Xe driver in Linux kernel 7.0 through 7.1.8 allows local users to exhaust kernel memory via an exec-queue request. exec_queue_set_hang_replay_state() overwrites q->replay_state without rejecting an existing vmemdup_user() allocation, losing the prior pointer without freeing its memory. Reachability requires local access to the Intel Xe DRM exec-queue interface; repeated requests consume kernel memory and interrupt host availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
