Kernel-data disclosure via stale skb length accounting
Published Aug 22, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in affected Linux releases starting at 6.9 allows remote attackers to disclose kernel data via fragmented UDP datagrams. In bpf_prog_run_generic_xdp(), replacing skb->data_len after an XDP fragment shrink leaves skb->len with the old fragment contribution, so __skb_datagram_iter() reads beyond the true linear tail. A reachable interface must already run generic XDP in SKB mode with a program that shrinks fragments; successful triggers leak kernel metadata and corrupt delivered datagrams.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
