Kernel memory corruption via oversized WEP challenge

Buffer overflow in Linux rtl8723bs allows physically proximate attackers to corrupt kernel memory via a malformed WEP challenge. OnAuthClient() copies the attacker-controlled rtw_get_ie() length, up to 255 bytes, into the fixed 128-byte chg_txt buffer without validating the required length. The path is reachable over the air before association during WEP shared-key authentication; oversized input writes out of bounds, while short input echoes stale buffer contents.
