Host crash via dangling SCTP transport pointer
Published Aug 22, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
Use-after-free in the Linux kernel SCTP implementation allows remote attackers in an established association to crash the host. A wildcard DEL-IP can remove a newly added transport without clearing asoc->new_transport, so a queued HEARTBEAT later reads freed transport state. An SCTP-AUTH peer and local address replacement are required; the demonstrated consequence is a kernel oops and host crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
