CVE-2026-74532

Out-of-bounds read via unchecked diagnostics TLV length

Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in the Linux kernel 6.4 and later allows attackers to read beyond a received Bluetooth diagnostics frame. The btintel_diagnostics() function reads tlv->val[0] before verifying that the vendor-specific event contains the TLV value byte. The public record does not identify how attackers cause a malformed diagnostics event to reach the driver, and the reported consequence is limited to unintended memory reads.
