CVE-2026-74511

Kernel memory corruption via unlocked pending-command scan

Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026

Linux Kernel Bluetooth management was reported to contain a use-after-free that let local users corrupt kernel memory during EIR updates. pending_eir_or_class() scanned hdev->mgmt_pending without its mutex and omitted SET_LOCAL_NAME from EIR command serialization. The reported path required management-command access and a powered BR/EDR controller, but the CNA later rejected the CVE.
