CVE-2026-74447

GPU memory corruption via EOP size wrap

Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026

Out-of-bounds writes in Linux kernel drm/amdkfd affected releases allow local users to corrupt GPU memory and fault or reset the GPU. kfd_queue_acquire_buffers aligns a user-supplied 32-bit EOP size without widening it, so 0xFFFFF001 wraps to zero and bypasses the exact-size buffer check. Exploitation requires access to AMD KFD and an affected GFX8 or GFX9 GPU; the resulting writes can extend beyond a 4KB buffer into adjacent GPU-mapped memory.
