CVE-2026-74444

Kernel-memory disclosure via undersized DRAW_PRIMITIVES header

Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in Linux vmwgfx allows local users to read kernel memory through a crafted DRAW_PRIMITIVES command. vmw_cmd_draw subtracts the command-body size from an untrusted unsigned header size before division, so an undersized header wraps and permits decl[i] reads beyond the kernel bounce buffer. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access to the vmwgfx command interface; affected systems can disclose kernel memory or suffer an interruption.
