CVE-2026-74435Network attack vector

Remote crash via missing rxrpc receive buffer

Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026

NULL pointer dereference in rxrpc in affected Linux kernel releases allows remote attackers to crash the system with crafted packets. rxrpc_verify_data skips rx_dec_buffer allocation when the received data length is zero, yet rxrpc_recvmsg_data passes that NULL buffer to skb_copy_bits. An unauthenticated packet must reach an active RxRPC path; exploitation interrupts the host through a kernel crash, with no reported data disclosure or modification.
