CVE-2026-74410

Kernel memory disclosure via oversized RX descriptor

Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in the rtw88 PCIe receive path in Linux allows attackers to disclose kernel memory or crash a system via crafted RX descriptors. The rtw_pci_rx_napi() function adds firmware-controlled packet length and offset fields without checking the sum against the 11,478-byte DMA buffer before skb_put_data() copies it. Exposure requires an affected rtw88 PCIe Wi-Fi device and control of its receive descriptors; the USB transport performs the missing bounds check.
