CVE-2026-74408

Out-of-bounds access via unchecked ath9k queue index

Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026

Out-of-bounds access in the Linux ath9k driver allows attackers to index beyond the transmit queue array via a firmware queue ID. The ath_tx_edma_tasklet() function uses the four-bit ts.qid field, which permits values from 0 through 15, directly against the ten-entry sc->tx.txq array without a bounds check. Reachability requires an ath9k-supported wireless device to supply a queue ID from 10 through 15; the documented consequence is an out-of-bounds kernel array access.
