CVE-2026-74407

Kernel crash via concurrent MHI teardown

Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026

Race condition in Linux 5.19 through 7.1.4 allows physically proximate attackers to crash the kernel during a reboot. ath11k_pci_shutdown runs asynchronously with MHI RDDM reset_work, allowing both paths to deinitialize MHI and free the same DMA-backed contexts. Only PCI/MHI-based ath11k devices are exposed, and WLAN firmware crash recovery must overlap shutdown or reboot; AHB devices are unaffected.
