Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026
Stored XSS in BoldThemes Bold Timeline Lite 1.2.8 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via shortcode attributes. The bold_timeline_item shortcode insufficiently sanitizes and escapes user-controlled supertitle and subtitle attributes before rendering them into pages. Contributor-level access is required to store a payload, which executes in a user's browser whenever the injected page is viewed.
