CVE-2026-74355

RB-tree corruption via invalid probe cleanup

Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026

Memory corruption in Linux kernel 6.15 through 6.18.39 and 6.19 through 7.1.4 allows local users to corrupt the Intel VT-d RB-tree. In drivers/iommu/intel/iommu.c, a zeroed info->node that was never inserted is passed to device_rbtree_remove(), which treats it as a tree root. Reachability requires high local privileges, a device without ATS, and a later probe-step failure; no consequence beyond RB-tree corruption is published.
