CVE-2026-74336

Adjacent kernel-memory read via oversized TIM sentinel

Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in Linux mac80211 6.18 through 7.1.4 allows attackers to read adjacent kernel memory via a crafted S1G TIM frame. ieee80211_s1g_check_tim() gives the PVB walker an end sentinel two bytes beyond the TIM payload, and the walker dereferences through that incorrect boundary. The S1G TIM must be received with its PVB at the end of the frame element data; the bounded consequence is a two-byte read of adjacent skb or heap memory, with kernel instability also possible.
