CVE-2026-74295

Kernel memory disclosure or crash via unchecked enum

Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026

An out-of-bounds read in the Linux kernel allows local users to disclose kernel memory or crash affected systems through an ALSA control write. The hdac_hdmi_set_pin_port_mux function indexes its texts array with an unvalidated enum value before snd_soc_dapm_put_enum_double rejects values outside the item range. Exploitation requires access to an ALSA control device and the affected HDMI codec path; the invalid index can expose adjacent kernel memory or fault the kernel.
