CVE-2026-74294

Local system impact via unchecked AIU enum

Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026

Improper input validation in Linux 5.7 through 7.1.4 allows local users to trigger unspecified impact through AIU codec mux controls. The HDMI and internal codec mux put callbacks call snd_soc_enum_item_to_val() on a userspace-supplied enum item before confirming that it falls within the control's range. Reachability requires local low-privileged access and a Meson AIU audio device; published assessments disagree on whether confidentiality and integrity are affected.
