CVE-2026-74287Network attack vector

Remote information disclosure via oversized SCTP address length

Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026

Out-of-bounds reads in the Linux kernel SCTP implementation allow remote attackers to disclose kernel memory or crash systems via malformed packets. sctp_verify_asconf() and sctp_verify_param() accept an embedded address length beyond its enclosing ADD_IP, DEL_IP, or SET_PRIMARY parameter, and af->from_addr_param() then parses past the available payload. The target must process attacker-supplied SCTP INIT or ASCONF traffic; no authentication or user interaction is required.
