Connection transmit starvation via oversized TIPC ACK
Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026
Integer underflow in the Linux kernel TIPC component allows remote attackers to halt a connection's transmissions via an oversized ACK. tipc_sk_conn_proto_rcv subtracts the peer-controlled acknowledgment count from the unsigned snt_unacked counter without checking the outstanding-message count, causing wraparound and permanent congestion. The attacker must establish a TIPC peer connection; the resulting service interruption is confined to that connection's send side.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
