CVE-2026-74263

Kernel crash via unchecked skb clone failure

Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026

NULL pointer dereference in the Linux t7xx WWAN driver allows local users to crash the system through a control transmission. t7xx_port_ctrl_tx() uses each skb_clone() return value to set the cloned fragment length without first checking whether allocation returned NULL. Exploitation requires local low-privilege access and an active MediaTek T700 modem using the t7xx control path; the reported consequence is a kernel crash.
