CVE-2026-74043Public exploitNetwork attack vectorHinoki check available

Arbitrary file write via unvalidated cluster upload filenames

Published Oct 13, 2026 · Updated Oct 13, 2026

Path traversal in Wazuh manager before 4.14.8 allows remote authenticated users to write files via cluster upload requests. The upload_list_file, upload_rule_file, and upload_decoder_file helpers construct destinations from unvalidated filenames when DistributedAPI calls bypass REST controller validation. Exploitation requires the cluster key and writes with wazuh service-account permissions; the published demonstration establishes file writes, not root execution.
