Administrator access retention via skipped token-blacklist checks

Published Oct 13, 2026 · Updated Oct 13, 2026

Session invalidation in Wazuh manager before 4.14.8 allows remote authenticated users to retain administrator access via stale API tokens. The check_token function checks the blacklist only inside a static-role loop, which never runs for users with zero static roles. Exploitation requires a previously privileged run_as token; self-linking the administrator role makes access permanent.
