Root-file disclosure via agent-injected upgrade_custom commands
Published Oct 13, 2026 · Updated Oct 13, 2026
File disclosure in Wazuh manager before 4.14.8 allows remote attackers to read root-owned files via injected upgrade_custom commands. The wm_agent_upgrade module accepts agent-originated commands without an origin check, opens attacker-controlled file_path values, and transfers their contents to the sending agent. Exploitation requires an active enrolled agent; default passwordless enrollment enables access without credentials, exposing manager secrets.
