Code execution via subscriber file upload
Published Aug 20, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026
Arbitrary file upload in themagnifico52 Smart Cleaning 4.8.6 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to write files via theme upload functionality. Patchstack has not disclosed the vulnerable upload handler or the missing file-type validation, only that Subscriber-level access is sufficient to upload dangerous files. Reachability requires a WordPress account with Subscriber privileges; successful exploitation can place a web shell or other backdoor and lead to full site compromise if the server executes the uploaded file.
