CVE-2026-73938Network attack vector

Data exposure via unauthenticated GraphQL endpoint

Published Aug 18, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026

Improper access control in GraphQL support in Oracle Helidon 4.5.0 allows remote attackers to read application data via HTTP. Oracle has not published the exact locus; the matching 4.5.1 security fix adds SecureHandler.authenticate() to GraphQlService so GraphQL GET and POST routes are no longer exposed unless permit-all is explicitly enabled. Exposure requires a deployment that publishes the GraphQL endpoint and relies on Helidon's default route protection; published impact is confidentiality only, with no vendor evidence of write access or service interruption.
