Administrative takeover via predictable default password
Published Sep 1, 2026 · Updated Sep 3, 2026
Authentication bypass in Hewlett Packard Enterprise AOS-CX allows remote attackers to gain full administrative control. Credential Manager treats a predictable factory-default password as valid authentication during initial setup. Exposure is limited to factory-default or post-ZTP devices before an administrator configures credentials, but successful access grants full device administration.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
