Authenticated command execution via unsafe player options
Published Aug 13, 2026 · Updated Aug 13, 2026
OS command injection in FreePBX Music on Hold before 17.0.7 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as the Asterisk user. validateCustomConfiguration() accepts file-writing, control-channel, and call-file options for allowlisted players because applicationUsesDisallowedPlayerOption() fails to reject them. Administrator access to the FreePBX control panel is required; successful exploitation runs arbitrary commands with the asterisk service account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
