IP spoofing and disclosure via X-Client-IP race
Published Aug 12, 2026 · Updated Aug 12, 2026
A race condition in IBM DataPower Gateway's XML Firewall allows remote authenticated users to spoof and disclose client IP addresses. Concurrent requests reuse improperly isolated built-in X-Client-IP state, allowing one request's value to contaminate another. Exploitation requires low-privileged access, high-complexity timing, persistent connections, and client-supplied X-Client-IP values; service availability is unaffected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=10.5.0.0 <=10.5.0.21
- Affected versionversion=10.6.0.0 <=10.6.0.9
- Affected versionversion=11.0.0.0 <=11.0.0.1
