Cross-tenant payload read and overwrite via path traversal

Published Aug 13, 2026 · Updated Aug 13, 2026

Path traversal in Trigger.dev 4.4.2 through 4.5.0-rc.4 allows remote authenticated users to read or overwrite cross-tenant task payloads. Packet routes pass unchecked dot segments to Aws4FetchClient, whose URL.pathname assignment normalizes them before signing, while a truthy authorization stub omits resource ownership checks. Exploitation requires a valid environment API key and access-key-backed object storage; the managed cloud's ALB blocks the documented traversal.
