Cross-project deployment tampering via unscoped worker lookup
Published Aug 13, 2026 · Updated Aug 13, 2026
Authorization bypass in Trigger.dev before 4.5.6 allows remote authenticated users to alter another project's deployment state. CreateDeploymentBackgroundWorkerServiceV4 selects workerDeployment records by attacker-supplied friendlyId without constraining environmentId, then links the caller's worker and updates the selected deployment. A valid project API key and the victim deployment identifier are required; successful requests move the victim from BUILDING to DEPLOYING and attach attacker-controlled worker metadata.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
